If you are a customer of an electricity utility and in a lower-income home, you may qualify for a reduction on your electricity bill. The OESP will reduce the cost of your household electricity by applying a monthly credit directly to your bill.
The Government of Ontario has changed the eligibility for the program as of March 1, 2024. If you are an electricity customer, you may qualify for a monthly, on-bill credit of $35 or more. The credit amount depends on 2 factors:
- How many people live in the home
- The combined annual household after tax income
- For current eligibility and credit amounts, visit – ONTARIO ELECTRICITY SUPPORT PROGRAM (oesp.ca)
