July Heat Wave Resulting in Hotter Bills

NOTL Hydro to Participate in Voltage Reduction Test

Niagara on the Lake Hydro, along with other local distribution companies throughout Ontario, is participating in a mandatory province-wide voltage reduction test on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016. This exercise, which is conducted by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), is not expected to have any negative effects on electricity consumers. The OEB is alerting Ontarians to a possible telephone scam. The OEB has received reports that individuals, claiming to be affiliated with the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), were calling to request access into consumers’ homes. In two incidents last week, residents were contacted about the OESP, and notified that a home inspection was a condition of the program.

October 1, 2015 – The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake recently completed a large-scale LED street lighting project where 1,034 lights were converted to modern LED lighting.
